Coach Roscoe will be entering his first season as the Bears' head coach after serving three seasons as an assistant on the staff.  Bob came to BSC in 2005 after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Salve Regina from 2003 to 2004. 

Coach Roscoe began his collegiate coaching career in 1989 at Wheaton College where he served as an assistant coach for the women's volleyball team for 13 years.  During that span, the team won three New 8 championships and made one appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.  In 2002, he became the Co-Head Coach at Wheaton and directed them to a 15-16 record before moving on to Salve Regina the following year.

Roscoe also coached in the Junior Olympics for six years in various age groups ranging from 14 to 18 years of age.  He coached in Brockton for two year, Costal for two years and Bay State Juniors for two years.

A 1974 graduate of Oliver Ames High School in North Easton, Massachusetts, Coach Roscoe currently resides in South Easton with his wife, Carolyn.




Becky Antunes

Becky Antunes is in her first season as a member of the Bridgewater State College volleyball coaching staff.  Coach Antunes is a 1999 graduate of Bridgewater State where she earned a Bachelors of Science degee in Special Education.  She also received her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004.

While at Bridgewater, Becky competed on both the volleyball and softball teams.  She was an outside hitter on the volleyball team from 1995 to 1997, captaining the team in her final season.  The Bears won three straight MASCAC titles during her volleyball career and never lost a conference match. 

Becky was a member of the BSC softball team from 1996 to 1999 as a first baseman, third baseman and pitcher.  She helped the Bears capture four straight MASCAC titles, make three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances (1996, 1998, 1999), and advance to the Division III World Series in 1998 and 1999. As a senior in 1999, Becky was named to the All-MASCAC Softball Team as a designated player.

Coach Antunes was previously the head varsity girl's volleyball coach at Seekonk High School from 2000 to 2003.  She has also served as a camp coach and clinician at Northeastern University, Wheaton College and New Bedford High School.  From 1999 to 2001, Becky was an assistant coach for the Coastal Volleyball Club.

A native of Swansea, Massachusetts, Coach Antunes presently resides in New Bedford, Mass. and is a preschool teach in Taunton.  She is also a professor for the American Military University, an accredited online university.




Melissa Makuch

Melissa Machado will be entering her third season on the volleyball coaching staff after an outstanding four-year career at Bridgewater State. Machado, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, graduated from BSC in 2006 with an impressive 3.72 grade point average. She was a Dean's List student in each of her eight semesters, and was a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon Honorary National Mathematics Society.  

Athletically, she left her mark on the volleyball court as she was arguably among the best athletes in BSC volleyball history.  Machado was named Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Week seven times in her distinguished career, including receiving the honor four times in her senior campaign of 2005.  She was also named to the All-MASCAC Volleyball Team in both her junior and senior seasons, and was selected as the conference Player of the Year in 2005, as helped the Bears continue their dominance in the MASCAC.

Bridgewater State captured both the MASCAC regular season and tournament championships, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament, in each of Melissa's four seasons at BSC.  The Bears also upped their winning streak versus MASCAC opponents to an impressive 102 matches through her senior season.  The streak is now up to 110 matches entering the 2007 campaign.

Melissa wrapped up her career at Bridgewater State as the school's all-time leader in service aces with 305. She is also the only player in Bridgewater volleyball history to record both 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills in a career, as she finished second all-time at BSC in digs with 1,565 and fourth all-time in kills with 1,000.

Melissa presently resides in her hometown of Fairhaven, Massachusetts with her husband, Chris.
