Becky Antunes is in her first season as a member of the Bridgewater State College volleyball coaching staff. Coach Antunes is a 1999 graduate of Bridgewater State where she earned a Bachelors of Science degee in Special Education. She also received her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004.
While at Bridgewater, Becky competed on both the volleyball and softball teams. She was an outside hitter on the volleyball team from 1995 to 1997, captaining the team in her final season. The Bears won three straight MASCAC titles during her volleyball career and never lost a conference match.
Becky was a member of the BSC softball team from 1996 to 1999 as a first baseman, third baseman and pitcher. She helped the Bears capture four straight MASCAC titles, make three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances (1996, 1998, 1999), and advance to the Division III World Series in 1998 and 1999. As a senior in 1999, Becky was named to the All-MASCAC Softball Team as a designated player.
Coach Antunes was previously the head varsity girl's volleyball coach at Seekonk High School from 2000 to 2003. She has also served as a camp coach and clinician at Northeastern University, Wheaton College and New Bedford High School. From 1999 to 2001, Becky was an assistant coach for the Coastal Volleyball Club.
A native of Swansea, Massachusetts, Coach Antunes presently resides in New Bedford, Mass. and is a preschool teach in Taunton. She is also a professor for the American Military University, an accredited online university.
