Nicole Mauro Places 14th in the 5,000 at NCAA Championships
Oshkosh, Wisc. -- Bridgewater State College senior Nicole Mauro placed 14th in the 5,000-meter run at the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday. The Mashpee, Massachusetts native posted a time of 17:42.90 in the event.
Mauro qualified for the Division III Championships in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:19.26 which she recorded at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) meet on May 10th at the University of New Hampshire.
Mauro is no stranger to the national spotlight as she also competed in the cross county championships last November and in the indoor track and field championships back in March. Mauro finished in 135th place at the cross county meet and posted an 11th place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the indoor championships.
