Donnelly Named Little East Women's Tennis Player of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State College junior Lauren Donnelly has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Donnelly previously received the honor back on September 15th.
A native of Centerville, Massachusetts, Donnelly went 2-1 in second singles play and 2-1 at first flight doubles to lead the Bears on the week.
Donnelly's two singles victories both were in straight sets against Worcester State (6-2, 6-1) and against Roger Williams (6-2, 6-3). She also teamed with sophomore Jessica Francis for an 8-0 first flight doubles win against the Lancers and an 8-2 doubles win against the Hawks.
In her first season at BSC, Donnelly is currently 7-1 in singles play with a perfect 4-0 mark against Little East opponents. She is also 6-2 in doubles competition, playing alongside Francis, with a 3-1 LEC record.
Through eight matches this season, Bridgewater State currently holds a 7-1 overall record with a 4-0 mark in the Little East. The Bears are presently tied with UMass Dartmouth atop the conference standings.
