Jennifer Jackson Sets New BSC Three-Meter Diving Mark

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College junior Jennifer Jackson set a new BSC women's diving record on the three-meter board at the Bears' meet at Keene State College on Wednesday night.  Jackson registered a score of 277.35 points in the three-meter competition as she surpassed Kristine Soen's previous school mark of 270.45 points set back in 1998.

Jackson, a native of Randolph, Massachusetts, placed first in both the one-meter (221.48 pts) and three-meter diving events for the eighth consecutive meet.  Jackson's previous high water mark on the three-meter board this season came at home against Wheaton College on January 17th as she posted a score of 236.15 points.

Also winning events at the Keene State meet on Wednesday night were sophomore Jillian Coache (New Bedford, MA) and freshman Bryn Morwick (Indianapolis, IN).  Coache placed first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:04.15, while Morwick recorded a time of 11:28.82 to capture the top spot in the 1000 freestyle event.

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in the pool next Tuesday, January 30th, as the Bears host Bentley College in BSC's final home meet of the season.  Tuesday's meet also marks senior night as swimmers Patricia Montmeny (Springfield, MA), Emily White (Gloucester, MA) and Frank Freel (Leominster, MA) will be honored.
