In the spring of 1999, Andrea Zeigler was named the head coach for the Bears women's soccer program. Zeigler had been the head women's soccer coach at Curry College from 1993 to 1998. Coach Zeigler is also a graduate of Curry where she played soccer for three seasons. As a player she was a 3-time All-New England selection and 3-time team "MVP". Outside of college coaching, Andrea had also been head coach of the Greater Boston Bolts (under 15 girls) from 1994-96.
After struggling through a 3-12-1 season in her first season at the helm in 1999, her team rebounded during the 2000 campaign battling to a 9-9 record and a 2nd place finish in the MASCAC standings. In 2001 the Bears again won nine games and again finished in second place in the MASCAC. For her team's accomplishments during the 2001 season, Coach Zeigler was named the MASCAC Coach of the Year.
The 2002 campaign was one to remember for Coach Zeigler and the Bears as the team completed the season with a record of 14-6 and made their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament. BSC earned an automatic berth in the NCAAs by defeating MASCAC rival Framingham State, 2-0, in the conference tournament championship game. In the opening round of the NCAA New England Regional Tournament, the fourth seeded Bears defeated Western New England College on penalty kicks before dropping a hard-fought 1-0 decision to eventual regional champion Wheaton College in the tournament semifinals.
In 2003, the Bears returned to the NCAA tournament for the second straight year as they won a dramatic overtime shootout against Salem State in the MASCAC title game. BSC, which finished the season with a record of 9-6-3, dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Amherst College in the opening round of the NCAA New England Regional.
After posting a 9-7-4 mark in 2006 and earning a spot in the ECAC Division III New England Tournament, the Bears went 8-8-1 this past season and ended the campain with a 1-0 loss in the MASCAC Tournament semifinals.
In nine seasons at Bridgewater State, Coach Zeigler has compiled an overall record of 77-69-15 as she is the all-time winningest coach in BSC women's soccer history. She has also compiled 114 career coaching victories during her tenure at BSC and at Curry.
Andrea currently resides in Bridgewater with her husband, Mike, and daughters, Alex and Cameron.

During her four-year career at Stonehill, McCarthy netted 34 goal to go along with 19 assists for a total of 87 points. She was a Northeast 10 All-Conference selection for her junior and senior seasons of 2004 and 2005 when she also captained the team. In 2005 she set career highs in goals and scoring finishing with 12 goals and 30 points as she was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II All-New England First Team.
Outside of her playing career at Stonehill, McCarthy was also very active in the athletics department. She was a member of the NCAA Life Skills program from 2003 to 2006, and the coordinator of the Student-Athlete Mentor program from 2004 to 2006. McCarthy also volunteered at the St. Edwards after school program in Brockton as well as for Leaps for Literacy at the Downey School in Brockton.
Prior to her arrival on the BSC coaching staff, McCarthy was an assistant coach at her college alma mater this past fall. She has also been an instructor at the Stonehill Soccer Academy each of the last four summers.
