Coach Smith is entering his first season as the Bears's new head track and field coach.  He will be skippering both the men's and women's indoor and outdoor programs. 

Smith is a 2006 graduate of Stonehill College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.  At Stonehill, he was a four-time Northeast-10 All-Conference selection in both cross country and track as well as a three-time all-region selection in cross country. Smith currently holds the Chieftains' outdoor track record in the 10,000 meter run (31:04.77).

Presently a history teacher at Middleboro High School, Smith was an assistant coach for both cross country and track at Stonehill following his graduation.  He instructed three All-American athletes during the 2006-2007 academic year.
