SALEM, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team won all four of the singles matches that were completed and came from behind to defeat Bridgewater State, 5-2, in the semi-finals of the Little East Conference Tournament at the O'Keefe Center Friday evening. The match was moved indoors and delayed due to inclement weather.

The Corsairs, who trailed 2-1 after the doubles, tied the match when freshman Karsten Rathlev (Winchester, MA) defeated Justin Lipomi (Lowell, MA) at number three singles, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Mason Viau (Marion, MA) put UMass Dartmouth on top when he defeated Matt Charest (Somerset, MA) at number one singles, 6-0, 6-4.

Senior Christoph Forster (Reading, MA) gave the Corsairs a 4-2 lead when he downed Mike Zagame (Uxbridge, MA) at number four singles, 6-4, 6-4, and freshman Troy Pandolfi (Danbury, CT) clinched the match when he outlasted Duncan Yarworth (Wrentham, MA) at number two singles, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4. The match was halted when the Corsairs earned five points to clinch the victory.

Charest and Yarworth posted an 8-6 victory at first doubles, while senior Brendon Barbo (Yarmouthport, MA) and sophomore Nick Amrose (Arlington, MA) teamed for an 8-5 triumph at third doubles.

UMD improved to 11-1 with the win, while Bridgewater State dropped to 11-7 with the defeat. UMass Dartmouth advanced to Saturday's championship match against Salem State. The Vikings defeated Southern Maine, 5-4, in the other semi-final match. The match was the final competition of the season for Bridgewater State.
