Men's Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision to Salem State

SALEM, Mass. - Salem State College swept all three doubles matches and lost just one singles match en route to an 8-1 victory over the Bears of Bridgewater State College in Little East Conference (LEC) men's tennis action this afternoon in Salem.

SSC (7-4 overall, 4-0 LEC) has won six of its last seven matches after beginning the season 1-3. The Vikings have yet to lose an LEC match this spring. The Bears are now 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the LEC.

Senior co-captain Barry Gorman (Hopedale, MA) was the lone winner for the Bears as he won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.  Gorman is undefeated in singles play this season as he improved to 7-0.

SSC's next match will be on Tuesday when the Vikings travel to the UMass Boston for a 3 PM Little East Conference LEC contest against the Beacons. Bridgewater State hosts Little East rival Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30.
