Men's Tennis Falls to Western Connecticut State, 5-4

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- In Little East Conference men's tennis action, the Bridgewater State College Bears dropped a 5-4 decision to Western Connecticut State University this afternoon from the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts in Bridgewater.

The Bears (2-3, 0-1 LEC) captured two out of the three doubles matches, but dropped four of the six singles matches in the loss.  Senior co-captain Barry Gorman (Hopedale, Ma) remained undefeated in five singles matches this season as he won in three sets at the third flight, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4.  Gorman also teamed up with junior Brendon Barbo (Yarmouthport, MA) for an 8-6 victory at second flight doubles.

Barbo was the Bears only other singles winner as he came away with a straight set, 6-2, 6-1, win at the fifth flight.  Freshmen Justin Lipomi (Lowell, MA) and Nicholas Amrose (Arlington, MA) paired up for an 8-3 victory in third flight doubles action.

Bridgewater State travels to UMass Boston on Tuesday afternoon for a 3 PM Little East match with the Beacons.
