Brett Oteri

A 2002 graduate of Bridgewater State College where he received a bachelor's degree in English, Oteri was named head coach of the Bears prior to the start of the 2002-2003 season after serving as an assistant coach for two seasons. A four-year member of the Bridgewater State men's swim team, Brett was on the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams which still hold the school records in those events.  He also captained the Bears during his senior campaign of 1999-2000.

In 2007 Brett earned his Masters of Science degree in Exercise Physiology.  Also in 2007 Brett published his first book "Change Your Bodyshape" an exercise guide for training at home.  Currently he is working on his second book set to be in stores early in 2008. 

Brett is beginning his fourth year as a visiting lecturer for Bridgewater State teaching classes in the Exercise Science department.

Brett, who is now entering his sixth season as the head coach of both the men's and women's teams, currently resides in Middleboro.

 




Patricia Ryle

Coach Ryle is entering her third season at Bridgewater State since joining the swimming and diving coaching staff prior to the 2004-2005 season. Coach Ryle is a 1974 graduate of BSC where she received her bachelor's degree in education.  Coach Ryle also earned a master's degree in education from Lesley University in 1995. A retired elementary school teacher in the Holbrook Public School system, Coach Ryle is a current member of U.S. Masters Swimming, and has competed in the Short Course New England Masters Championships. Her previous coaching experience includes ten years coaching the South Shore Summer League and the Scituate Knights of Columbus.        

Patricia presently reside in Hummarock, Massachusetts.  She competes often in U.S. Masters Open Water swimming competitions with her daughter, Kelly, who is in graduate school in Philadelphia.  Her son, Kevin, is also a swimmer who is presently serving in Kosovo with the Army on a NATO mission.




Emily Manion

Emily is a 2003 graduate of Bridgewater State College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. While at BSC, Emily was a member of the Women's Swimming, Basketball and Tennis teams. Since graduating, Emily has taught Physical Education and Health locally at the high school level. She has coached high school swimming, basketball and tennis over the past five years as well.
She returned to Bridgewater State this year to coach swimming, and pursue her master's degree in Physical Education.
Emily currently resides in Attleboro, where she will continue to coach the varsity high school tennis team in the spring.
