Coach Brendan Adams is entering his sixth season as the head coach of the Bridgewater State men's soccer program.  Coach Adams was promoted to the head coaching position prior to the 2002 season after serving as as an assistant coach on the staff in 2001.  Brendan was also a women's soccer assistant at BSC from 1996 to 1997.

In 2003, in just his second season as head coach, Adams directed the men's team to the program's first MASCAC regular season title since 1994. For his team's performance, he was named the MASCAC Coach of the Year.  The following year, he guided his squad to a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament, the program's first NCAA bid since the 1990 season. The Bears advanced to the second round of the NCAAs before ending the season with a record of 12-7-2.  The 2004 Bears, however, picked up their first ever NCAA tournament victory and won the MASCAC Tournament championship for the first time in school history.

In 2006, the Bears posted a record of 6-11-1 and earned a spot in the MASCAC Tournament for the sixth straight season.  Through 2006, Brendan's coaching record at BSC stands at 46-38-8, with an impressive 22-10-3 mark in conference matches. He is now tied for second on the all-time BSC men's soccer coaching wins list.

A 1996 graduate of Stonehill College, Adams received his Masters Degree in Physical Education from Springfield College in 2001. He also holds a National Diploma from the NSCAA. A native of Sherborn, Massachusetts, Brendan is currently the Night and Weekend Facilities Manager in the Adrian Tinsley Center, BSC's state-of-the-art athletic facility, and teaches activity classes in the Movement Arts Department.

Phil Howe
Assistant Coach

Coach Phil Howe will begin his first season on the BSC men's soccer coaching staff.  A native and current resident of Franklin, Massachusetts, Howe was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Bears during his collegiate playing career which spanned from 2001 to 2004.  He finished his career with 5 goals and 12 assists for a total of 22 points, and he is also tied for third all-time at BSC in games started with 69.

Howe spent most of his time in the Bears' lineup as a defender and midfielder.  In 2004, he helped lead Bridgewater to a MASCAC Tournament championship and an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance which included a 2-0 opening round victory over Baruch College. A three-time All-Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) selection, Howe capped off his outstanding career as a Division III representative in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) Senior All-Star Game.

Immediately following his playing career, Howe went on to coach at Canton High School.  He is presently employed at John Hancock.
