Seifert, Brewer Named to NSCAA/adidas All-New England Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior goaltender Ryan Seifert and senior forward Luke Brewer have been selected to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Men's Division III All-New England East Region Team.
A total of 44 players were selected to the All-New England Team which, as opposed to previous years, was divided into east and west regions based on geography. Seifert captured first team honors, while Brewer was a second team selection.
A native of Ludlow, Massachusetts, Seifert is making his second straight appearance on the All-New England Team as he was a fourth team selection a year ago. He started all 17 games for the Bears and posted a record of 9-5-3 with 84 saves and a 1.71 goals against average.
Seifert ranked fourth in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in goals against average, fifth in saves and seventh in save percentage.
In 44 games over three seasons at Bridgewater, Seifert has a career goals against average of 1.34 with 243 saves. He also has 24 wins to his credit as well as nine shutouts. Seifert is tied for third all-time at BSC in wins and is also third in games played, fourth in shutouts and fifth in saves.
Brewer, who hails from Edgartown, Mass., led the team in goals with 12 and in scoring with 27 points. Four of his 12 goals were game-winners. Brewer tied for first in the MASCAC in both goals and game-winning goals, and ranked third in scoring.
In just two seasons at BSC, Brewer totaled 16 goals and seven assists for 39 points. He is ninth on the Bears' all-time list in scoring.
The Bridgewater State men's soccer team posted an overall record of 9-5-3 with an impressive conference mark of 6-0-1. The Bears captured the MASCAC regular season title for the third time in the team history and for the first time since their 2003 season.
