BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College freshman forward Simao Mendes has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Mendes netted three goals and an assist for seven points in 2-1 week for Bears, including a hat trick in BSC's 4-3 victory at Endicott College.  He also assisted on the game-winning tally in a 3-0 triumph at Mitchell College.

A Brockton, Massachusetts product, Mendes has four goals and an assist through the first four games of his rookie season.  He currently leads the Bears in both goals and scoring (nine points).
