Tim Cuprinski Named to NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Team

2009 NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Men's Soccer Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Bridgewater State College senior defender Tim Cuprinski has been named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region Men's Soccer Team as an honorable mention selection.

Cuprinski, who hails from Brockton, Massachusetts, is a Communications major at Bridgewater State.  He currently sports an impressive 3.88 grade point average and has been a Dean's List student in each of his first six semesters at BSC.

One of the top defenders in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC), Cuprinski was named to the All-MASCAC Team for the first time in his career as he earned second team honors.  He helped Bridgewater State capture the MASCAC regular season title as the Bears posted a 6-0-1 mark in conference play as well as a 9-5-3 overall record.

In his four seasons at Bridgewater, Cuprinski played in 73 out of a possible 74 games and made 72 starts.  During his career the team recorded 18 shutouts and posted a 1.48 goals against average.  The BSC men's soccer team's overall record from 2006 to 2009 was 34-32-8 with a 18-8-2 mark in MASCAC regular season play.

As a sophomore in 2007, Cuprinski helped the Bears capture the MASCAC Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament for only the third time in program history.

There were 34 student-athletes selected to the NSCAA Scholar All-East Region first, second and third teams in voting conducted by the regional coaches.  An additional 73 were chosen as honorable mentions.
