Takashi Suzuki Selected to NEISL All-Star Game

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --- The New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) has selected senior midfielder Takashi Suzuki (Tochigi, Japan) to compete in the 2008 NEISL Division III Men’s Soccer All-Star Game which will be held on Saturday, May 3 at Clark University in Worcester at 3 o’clock.
Fifteen midfielders, eight forwards, nine defensemen, and three
goalies were selected to play in a game featuring seniors from
every conference in New England. Midfielder Peter
Tomdio (Burke, VA) from Mass Maritime was the only other
player from the MASCAC tabbed to play in the game.
Suzuki was one of four members of the Bridgewater State men’s
soccer team garnered to this years All-MASCAC Team. This year
Suzuki was a first-team selection and last season he was named to
the second-team. Suzuki started 19 games this season scoring three
goals while adding an assist.
In 75 career games and 54 starts Suzuki, who is BSC's all-time
leader in games played, tallied 13 goals and 7 assists for a total
of 37 points. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Division III
Tournament twice during his four year career. Bridgewater advanced
to the national tournament after winning the MASCAC Tournament
title in 2004 and again this past season.
The Bridgewater State men’s soccer team finished this year
with a record of 8-11-2 and a 4-3 mark in the MASCAC. The Bears
took this season’s conference tournament crown as the first
team ever to win the tournament as a number four seed.
