We Play a National Schedule!
The Conference Bridgewater State College plays in is called the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference or MASCAC. We play 12 Conference games, plus the MASCAC Tournament at the end of the season to crown the Champion.
Our non-conference schedule has always been one of the most challenging in New England as we play the best in the region and around the country. In the last three years, we have played 12 teams ranked in the Top 25 at some point during the season by the D3hoops.com coachs poll, the only media outlet that ranks D-III teams on a national level (the NCAA only publishes regional rankings for D-III).
Over the past few years we have played teams from Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin. We have traveled to play in tournaments in Arizona, Florida, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, San Antonio, and Los Angeles.
This season, we may have made our toughest non-conference schedule of all time. We have played only three teams with loosing records and the rest of our non-conference opponents have a combined winning % of .696. In addition, we scheduled 5 games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year, and 3 more against teams that went to the ECAC Tournament (the Division III N.I.T.). We have played the #2 and #10 ranked teams in the country plus 4 more games against teams were either ranked at some point during the year or received votes in the Top 25 poll.
Next year we plan on traveling to Arizona to play in
the
Cactus Jam Tournament.
Now you can choose to play at a college that only plays other local
teams, or you can play at Bridgewater and see what
the competition is like all across the country.
