2008 Summer Field Hockey League

Interested in playing field hockey this summer?  The Bridgewater State Field Hockey program will be running a summer 6 week league starting the week of June 24^th.  Play will be Tuesday nights for Varsity league, Wednesday nights for Masters (women's) league, and Thursday nights for Junior Varsity league.  The cost is $45.00 per player.

Please return both completed forms (waiver and application) and a check made payable to: Bridgewater State College by May 31^st  to secure your spot.

If you prefer to play on a particular team or want to enter a whole team please note it.  High school teams, mailing all the forms together would be appreciated.

SUMMER FIELD HOCKEY LEAGUE - BRIDGEWATER STATE COLLEGE

DAYS/DATES:

Tuesdays-June 24, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29-Varsity League
Wednesdays-June 25, July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30-Women's League
Thursdays-June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31-Junior Varsity League

DETAILS:

• - High School Teams play either Tuesdays or Thursdays. Older players on Tuesdays; younger players on Thursdays.
• - Women's League is typically for players that are 18 and older.
• - All leagues run from 5:00-8:00pm. Each team will play 2, 25 minute games per night.
• - 7 vs. 7 play on reduced size field with cages.
• - Team rosters have NO maximum number, with a minimum of 10 players.
• - All players MUST be on roster with permission forms on file.
• - All teams must bring a dark and light shirt with them each night.
• - Games will be held on the BSC football field (same as last year)

COST: $45.00 per player 

GAME SCHEDULE:

         2 games - 5:00 - 5:25      2 games - 6:00 - 6:25        2 games - 7:00 - 7:25

         2 games - 5:30 - 5:55      2 games - 6:30 - 6:55        2 games - 7:30 - 7:55   

-All players must provide their own sticks, mouthguards and shinguards.

-Mouthguards and shinguards MUST be worn in all games and goalies MUST be in PROPER protective equipment.  Goggles are optional because we play by Federation Rules.

-The application and informed consent/waiver form must be signed and dated by parent/guardian and player and be on file with the Site Director in order to participate in the league.

-BSC will provide emergency first aid by qualified personnel on site.

-Teams must provide practice balls, goalie equipment, and water.

-Master players may sign up as individuals or teams.  Individuals will be placed on a team by the director. 

-All Federation rules (NCAA rules for Masters) will be followed with modifications on corners (two players and the goalie on defense).  Since circles are not marked, corners will be called as decided by officials.  All decisions made by the officials are final.

-Schedules will be emailed to your team representative one-two weeks prior to the start.

-Bathrooms are available in the field house. 

In case of rain, games will be called by 4:00 PM.  Site Director will leave a message on the BSC Field Hockey phone line- 508-531-2898.  One rainout will NOT be rescheduled.  If a second rainout occurs, rescheduling will be attempted for August.

*Please pay by May 20^th to reserve a spot.   Final deadline for rosters and fees will be May 31^st.
