Bethany Bush Named Little East Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State College freshman Bethany Bush has been selected as the Little East Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.
A native of Littleton, Massachusetts, Bush recorded her second natural hat trick of the season in BSC's 3-2 non-conference win last week over the University of New England. With BSC trailing 1-0 in the game midway through the first half, Bush erupted for three straight goals in a span of 15 minutes to quickly erase the deficit.
Bridgewater wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 12-5 and a 7-4 mark in Little East Conference play. The Bears are seeded fourth in the conference tournament, which gets underway on Tuesday, and will host fifth seeded Framingham State. Game time is slated for 3:30.
The Bears reached the 12-win mark for the first time since the 1987 season when the team posted a record of 13-4-1. BSC also won a share of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season title, their first since 2003.
On the season, Bush currently leads the team in goals with 12 and in scoring with 27 points. She also ranks seventh in the Little East in goals and ninth overall in scoring. After notching 3 goals in her first ten games this season, Bush has tallied 9 goals over the last six games.
