Spenser Hatstat Named MASCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College freshman right-hander Spenser Hatstat has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week as he helped lead the Bears to a 5-1 record last week.

A native of Clinton, Massachusetts, Hatstat went 2-0 with 7 strikeouts and a 0.90 earned run average in two appearances last week.  He hurled three scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory in Bridgewater State's 15-13 win at UMass-Dartmouth.  Hatstat then tossed a complete game in a 15-2 win over Becker College, as he struck out 4 and allowed just 1 earned run.

On the season, Hatstat is sporting an impressive 0.63 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings of work.  Opponents are batting just .246 (14-for-57) against him.  Spenser currently leads the MASCAC in ERA and fewest earned runs allowed (1), and he is tied for third in wins with 2.
