College Weightlifting Team Makes Splash in Reno4/24/07The fledgling Bridgewater State College weightlifting club had a fine showing in Reno, Nevada, over Patriot’s Day weekend, with three of the five competing athletes setting personal best records. The year-old team already has 24 members, 11 of whom qualified for the Collegiate Nationals in Nevada. Of the five that competed in the event, Allyson O’Toole, Michael Ward and Tomasz Numrych set person best records in their events. |
More Gold for Professor Ellyn RobinsonWord has just been received from Hungary that Dr. Ellyn Robinson, ’92, associate professor of exercise science, is bringing home the gold medal in weightlifting from the World Master's Weightlifting Championships. The eight-day competition drew more than 469 athletes from 42 nations. |
