Testimonials:

John - (Aquatics Director)

I wanted to take a minute to let you know how thrilled I was w/ the new swim program at BSC.  I love how everything is broken down into steps that the children build upon as they move through the stations at their own pace.

Our older son, Dan, did one session of lessons for each of the past three summers.  He made progress, but much slower than most children.  Having the ability to move to the next station as soon as he was ready instead of staying in one level the entire time w/out the chance to move up was great incentive for him!  He moved from level 3 to level 4 on the second day!  He was ready to move to level 5 by the end of the three weeks, but he couldn't quite push himself when it was time to be tested.  His nervousness got the best of him (and swimmer's ear in both ears the last week didn't help).

This was the first year our younger son, Ryan, took lessons.  He was so uneasy about getting his head wet, he wouldn't bob underwater even once on the first day.  I helped him set goals for each day, and by the end of the first week, he was bobbing ten times and spent more time underwater than above it!  He passed onto level 2 during the second week and onto level 3 the third week.  He gained so much confidence and felt such pride as he moved along.

And while I have your attention, I need to praise one of your instructors. I can't say enough wonderful things about Ben.  Dan had lessons w/ him in the past, and he always knew how to handle Dan's nervousness.  When Dan was in level one for the second year, Ben would have Dan demonstrate everything, helping to build his confidence.  When Dan was nervous about trying something new this year in level 4, Ben would give him a couple of minutes and then give him an encouraging push to try.  It isn't often that you find young men who are so good w/ instructing children.  I hope to see Ben in the pool again next year!

If you decide to offer lessons during the school year, we'll be sure to sign up if they fit w/ our schedule!
