Bridgewater State Aquatics Basic Information

Class Sizes:  Every effort will be made to keep class sizes low.  Classes will have between three and seven students per coach depending on the level and enrollment.

Proof of Ability:  Please bring or send in a copy of your child's most recent swim lesson report card or progress sheet for proper registration.  Please be aware that evaluations of ability will be made by the coaching staff on the first day of lessons and reassignments to appropriate levels are a possibility in order to maintain program consistency and safety.  We ask for your patience on the first day as we work out the logistics for the rest of the session.  Spending this 1st day getting organized will ensure that your child will enjoy their experience and receives the best coaching that we can give them

We are here for you!  The aquatics staff is more than willing to answer any questions that you may have regarding the aquatics program and/or your child's swim lessons.  However, for safety reasons we ask that you not interact with your child's coach during the lesson time frame.   The coaching staff is available on the pool deck or by calling (508) 531-2062 from 8:00-8:15, and from 1:00 - 4:00 PM to answer any questions that you may have.  Also, you may reach the Aquatics Director, John Pringle, at (508) 531-2062 or by email at john.pringle@bridgew.edu with comments or concerns.

Safety is our #1 goal:  PLEASE!  Do not drop your child off and leave.  A parent or approved adult care-giver must be in the bleachers during your child's swim lessons.  Also, children 12 and under must have an adult in the bleachers during open swim.  Children under seven, or who cannot swim must have an adult who is in the water with them remaining within arms reach at all times.  The aquatics staff is committed to safety and they are not babysitters.  Please discuss pool rules regarding showers, running, and horseplay in particular with your children before coming to the pool.

Parking:  Parking is available in the Chapel Lot off of Park Avenue lot directly behind the pool on the side nearest the chapel to the right of the yellow walking path.  Overflow parking-if necessary-will be available on the lower Great Hill lot on the other side of the railroad tracks.  A parking permit provided during lesson sign ups must be appropriately displayed on your rear view mirror to avoid a potential fine.  Please enter the pool locker rooms through the front doors of the Kelly Building.  Parking passes for open and lap swimmers are available by emailing or calling the Aquatics Director.
