FACILITIES: The primary Athletic Training Facility is located on the first floor of the Adrian Tinsley Center. The Athletic Training Facility is located just past the Equipment Room Window on the left. All teams are welcome to use this facility for all of your pre and post game needs. The secondary Athletic Training Facility is located in Kelly Gymnasium as serves the wrestling, swim & dive and football teams.
WRESTLING AND SWIMMING are located in Kelly Gymnasium. The Auxiliary Athletic Training Facility is located on the lower level across from the locker rooms and weight room. The same hospitality is extended here; please feel welcome to use this facility for all of your pre and post game needs.
FOOTBALL Locker rooms are located in Kelly Gymnasium. Pre-game preparations are usually done at the Kelly facility and then the student-athletes are transported to Swenson Field.
EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES: We will provide ice, water, cups or water bottles, crutches, splints and radio communication at each field or court for all competitions. We cannot provide tape and wraps but will be glad to help your athletes if they bring their own supplies.
MODALITIES: All Certified Athletic Trainers may use any of our modalities, which include the following: ice, heat packs, cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. If your team is traveling with an athletic training student or without medical personnel, please send a written note for use of any of the electrical modalities other than ice.
PRE-GAME PREPARATION: A Certified Athletic Trainer will be available from approximately two hours prior to an event to thirty minutes after the conclusion of an event. If your team needs any special care, please contact us in advance.
COVERAGE: A Certified Athletic Trainer will be on-site for all home contests. Athletic training students in our educational program will also be at each game. At times, due to multiple contests at one time, a Certified Athletic Trainer may need to be covering two adjacent events simultaneously. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but will assure you that the highest risk sports will take priority.
RECIPROCAL COVERAGE: Football is the only team that travels with a Certified Athletic Trainer and athletic training students. All other teams will not be traveling with a Certified Athletic Trainer or an athletic training student, with the possible exception of post season tournaments. Please contact us if you have any concerns prior to the contest so proper arrangements can be made.
